M45 Pleiades

The Pleiades (M45), also known as the Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus, about 440 light-years from Earth. Its brightest stars are hot, blue, and relatively young, surrounded by a delicate haze of reflection nebulae. The cluster has been known since antiquity and is visible to the naked eye as a small, sparkling group. Its striking arrangement and ethereal glow have inspired myth and legend across cultures.

My story: The beautiful Pleiades (M45). For me, they hold a personal significance as they inspired the logo of the Japanese car brand Subaru, one of my favorites. If I ever visit Japan, there are three things I definitely want to see: the Zen gardens in Kyoto, Mount Fuji, and the Subaru factory. The Pleiades are not only stunning to look at but also fascinating for their young stellar population and the faint glow of nebulosity surrounding their brightest stars.
